Montana State Tau Rho

Montana State University

Bozeman, MT 59717

The Tau Rho Chapter of Pi Tau Sigma at Montana State University (then the Montana State College) was begun shortly after the beginning of the 1957-1958 academic year. Mr. J. L. Fenton of Michigan Pi Rho, together with F. Richard Wocasek was instrumental in fostering interest from the National Council. On May 12, 1958, the Montana State Tau Rho Chapter was formally installed by President C. M. Leonard and Vice-President E. Kent Springer after a petition has been circulated to active chapters. The Tau Rho Chapter supports the Mechanical Engineering Department by promoting mechanical engineering to high school seniors during the annual Montana State University High School Week. The members conduct tours of the laboratory facilities and have an informal gathering with prospective students. The chapter also familiarizes undergraduates in mechanical engineering with a display giving a brief history and description of each faculty member.
