Π Τ Σ Pi Tau Sigma 2018 Convention

This year our convention will be hosted by Miami Sigma Upsilon at Coral Gables, Florida. The date for the convention is February 23-25, 2018.  Again this year, the national office will be able to support one student member from each chapter that attends the convention, with a $450 travel stipend. The travel stipend will be provided as a check, written out to the chapter's name and distributed on Saturday, at the convention.  Here is the link to the convention website

Here is Miami Sigma Upsilon's invite call:

Dear Pi Tau Sigma Members,

I am very excited to invite you all to come to Miami this February 23-25 for the 2018 Pi Tau Sigma National Convention. We are looking forward to a wonderful weekend filled with networking and professional development.

Registration is now open now so please sign up soon. The website for the convention is coe.miami.edu/ptsconvention/, and the registration link can be found there. Note: You must complete both the registration form and the payment to be fully registered for the convention. Registration costs are as follows:

· Before January 15th: $80

· After January 15th: $90

· Onsite Registration: $90

Registration can be paid online by clicking the button “Convention Payment” on the website, beginning in one week. Checks can also be made out to the University of Miami with “Pi Tau Sigma Registration” in the memo line. It is understood that checks may be delayed in arrival, but the price at the time of online registration will be honored. If you want to pay onsite, please indicate that in the online registration.

When you come to Miami, we recommend you fly into Miami International Airport. Fort Lauderdale Airport is doable, but is much farther away and there isn’t good public transportation from FLL to the University of Miami. From Miami International Airport, you can either take an Uber/Lyft to the hotel, or you can take the Metrorail, which runs directly from the airport and has a stop very close to the hotels. If you are staying at the Hampton Inn, get off at the Dadeland North Stop. If you are staying at the Courtyard Mariott get off at the Dadeland South Stop. Transportation between the hotel and campus will also be by the Metrorail, and we are working to pay for Metropasses for Saturday and Sunday.

Also on the website is a link for hotel registration. You can either book a room online using the link or you can call the number on their website and tell them that you want to book a room under the University of Miami College of Engineering/Pi Tau Sigma Convention block. If you are coming to the convention alone and need a roommate, please indicate that on the registration form and we will do our best to match you with someone else that needs a roommate as well. After we have matched you then you should book a hotel room.

The national office will be able to support one student member from each chapter that attends the convention, with a $450 travel stipend. The travel stipend will be provided as a check, written out to the chapter's name and distributed on Saturday, at the convention.

If you need anything else or have any questions, please feel free to contact me at any time through the contact information below. We look forward to seeing all of you here in a few months!

Sincerely,

Mitchell Hamann
